Seiko Lord Marvel 5740-1990 Low Beat AGF Silver Linen Dial

Presented here is the Seiko Lord Marvel 5740-1990, a low-beat manual-winding model powered by the 5740 caliber with 23 jewels—one of the finest hand-wound movements Seiko ever produced. Known for its reliability, the 5740 is a true workhorse of its era.

This reference was offered in three case materials: stainless steel (SS), all gold-filled (AGF), and solid 18K gold. The example shown here features the AGF case, paired with a silver linen-textured dial, baton indices, and classic dauphine hands.

The watch is in good working condition, with good accuracy. While the crown has been replaced, the case retains its sharp edges with no dents or peeling, only light hairline scratches consistent with age. The dial remains overall clean with light signs of wear, but crisp Seiko and Lord Marvel markings, light scratches on the original crystal. The AGF engraving on the case back has faded over time but remains faintly visible under certain angles and lighting.

A well-preserved example of Seiko’s classic manual dress watch, still elegant and functional after more than six decades.
