In 1997, Seiko Alba made a special Ghibli character watch featuring Kodama (コダマ) , the tree spirits from the Princess Mononoke anime movie. These Kodama are children of old trees and indicate that the forest is healthy.
The watch has a unique design with a domed crystal and a special dial featuring the Kodama character. The dial is housed in a uniquely designed case with a cover that has a distinctive pattern and a tiny hole that reveals the Kodama character. The Kodama character is even more unique as it glows in the dark.
The Y204 is a manual winding movement manufactured by Seiko for the Alba watch, beating at 21,600 bph.
Measuring 37mm x 41mm, the watch comes with its original wooden box and papers, and is in great condition, almost like new (LNOS), with no obvious signs of wear on the original head and aftermarket straps.
This unique collaboration between Seiko Alba and Ghibli is a limited series, available in only 1,500 pieces.
