Seiko 45KS King Seiko 45-8010 Chronometer White Sunburst Dial

Introduced during Seiko’s golden era of competition between Daini Seikosha and Suwa Seikosha, King Seiko was established in 1961 as a luxury line to rival Grand Seiko. By the mid-1960s, both divisions pushed for greater precision, experimenting with high-beat movements to improve long-term accuracy, even participating in Swiss chronometer trials.

This 1970 King Seiko 45-8010 is a fine example of that pursuit. It features a clean white sunburst dial housed in a distinctive C-shaped case, powered by the renowned 45 series manual-winding movement. Beating at an impressive 36,000 vph, these movements were built to chronometer standards and tested by the Bureaux Officiels de Contrôle de la Marche des Montres (predecessor to COSC).

The watch is in very good condition, with a clean dial and crystal, showing no obvious signs of wear. The case has been polished, and the gold medallion on the caseback remains in good condition. The movement has been serviced, running well with strong accuracy of approximately ±10 seconds/day.

Measuring 37mm in diameter with a 42mm lug-to-lug, it offers an excellent wrist presence while maintaining a classic and timeless vintage profile.
