The Seikomatic range was introduced in the early 1960s as Seiko's upper-range automatic watches. These watches typically feature stainless steel or gold-plated cases.

The Seikomatic "Weekdater" featured here, is renowned for its day and date display and was launched in 1963 with the Seikosha 400 calibre. Initially, the Seikomatic logo was used instead of the main Seiko only logo on the dials.

The 400 Calibre movement is a gold-plated automatic movement that beats at 18,000 bph and displays the day of the week in English, along with a fast-forward function for the date.

The first-generation Seikomatic was produced in limited numbers at the time, and it is now a rare find in today's market. This rarity makes it highly sought after by vintage watch enthusiasts and collectors.
