Seiko Seikomatic 6206-8010 Weekdater Silver Sunburst Crosshair Dial

The Seikomatic line was introduced in the 1960s as part of Seiko’s initiative to expand into the business watch market, placing an emphasis on precision, functionality, and refined design. Positioned as a premium offering during its time, the Seikomatic and Seikomatic-R series represented some of Seiko’s most technically advanced automatic models of the era.

This 1965 Seikomatic 6206-8010, known as the “Weekdater,” features a clean, classic round case and a distinctive split day-date display. The silver sunburst dial is highlighted by a crosshair layout and square baton indices accented with a subtle cross-pattern—an example of Seiko’s attention to detail in mid-century dial design.

What makes this piece particularly desirable is the presence of the double signature of a Seiko-signed crown and the dolphin emblem on the caseback, that are still clearly visible even after six decades.

Powering the watch is the Seiko 6206 automatic movement, equipped with 26 jewels, beating at 18,000 bph, and featuring a quickset date along with a semi-quickset day function (adjustable between 9 PM and 1 AM).

This example is in good original head condition. Overall clean dial with light signs of wear on the edge of the right side, aging date, clear crystal, and the unpolished case shows only light hairline scratches, preserving its vintage integrity.

The 6206-8010 Weekdater in this condition has become increasingly hard to find, especially with both the visible Seiko crown and dolphin caseback, making it one of the highly collectible piece for vintage Seiko enthusiasts.
