Seiko QZ 0923-8010 Quartz White Sunburst Dial

In the early 1970s, Seiko introduced three lines of their Seiko Quartz lineup: the QT, QR, and QZ. The 0923-8010 showcased here belongs to the QZ series from 1975, the same year the QZ lineup was launched.

Utilizing the 0923 quartz movement, this timepiece boasts an accuracy of +/- 15 seconds per month and features a quickset for both the date and day, available in kanji or English. However, what sets it apart is its unique bilingual date setup, offering two color options for the English day: blue and black for weekdays, and red and black for Sundays, with the color day presented in bold font.

In excellent condition with no obvious signs of wear, this watch sports a simple classic white sunburst dial with stick indices and hands. The tonneau-shaped case with edgy sides has the front brushed finished and polished side complements with the aftermarket Bambi beads bracelet, suitable for wrist sizes of +/- 18.5cm.

The 1975 Seiko QZ 0923-8010 serves as a fine example of Seiko Quartz's golden era in the 1970s, with many variants priced higher than the Grand Seiko of its time, that today is an affordable option for vintage watch collectors.
