The 5146 movement, introduced in 1969, is considered the most advanced mechanical movement of its time, featuring a 28,800 bph hi-beat. It is the last caliber to be produced under the 51 family, known for its quirky quickset date function where the date is quickset by pressing the center side of the crown and the unique jumping, day date change from the 24-hour set up.
This Seiko 5146-7080 from 1970, features a simple classic white sunburst dial with striking polished two tone dauphine hands, matching polished indices, a day-date window, and the highlight of the Presmatic logo similar to the Grand and King Seiko, asserting its higher-end status in the Seiko lineup. It also has the Hi-Beat and 30 Jewels logo printed above the 6 o'clock position.
The watch comes in all-original head condition, in great shape with no obvious signs of wear. It has an overall clear crystal, a clean dial, and a movement in good working condition with a functioning quickset date.
The Presmatic 5146-7080 is rarely seen in the market, making it a must-have collectible for vintage Seiko watch enthusiasts.
