Seiko LM 5606-8040 Lord Matic JDM Blue Gradient Linen Dial

The Seiko Lord Matic carries a rich legacy as the successor to the Seikomatic line, continuing the heritage of the first high-beat 36,000 bph Lord Marvel.

The 5606 movement, initially introduced around 1968, served as the foundation for the early 1970s King Seiko and Grand Seiko models. This movement, an automatic + manual winding mechanism, beats at 21,600 bph and features a day-date quickset function. It's a JDM watch with the day displayed in both kanji and English.

The Seiko Lord Matic offers a wide variety of designs, ranging from simple monochrome to vibrant, colorful dials. for instance this 1974 Seiko 5606-8040 from the Suwa division, boasting a stunning brown vertical gradient dial with a linen texture. It showcases baton indices that double at the six, nine, and twelve o'clock positions, complemented by unique gold hands and a gold-framed day-date window. 

The watch showcases a good condition case with its original long LM bracelet, accommodating wrists up to +/- 19cm in size. At the same time, the dial is clean with only minimal signs of wear at the edge of near the 3 hour position. The original faceted crystal is replaced with the mineral crystal for a clearer view of its striking dial.
