The Seiko Lord Matic has a great history as the successor to the Seikomatic line, continuing the legacy of the first high beat 36,000 Bph Lord Matic.
The 5606 movement was produced by Suwa, and until the 1970s, most of the models had a rather classical design, often featuring a monobloc case design, meaning you couldn’t access the caliber from the back.
This Lord Matic 5606-7150 from 1971 has an attractive classic look of oval case shape featuring a grey linen-textured dial that, at certain angles, appears like an icy blue color. The stick indices and dauphine hands with a black stripe further enhance its refined, understated elegance.
The watch is in good condition, with a serviced movement where the quickset wheel has been upgraded to a metal part for enhanced durability. Good condition polished front with brush side case, while the original crystal is clear, and the dial markings and logo remain crisp with light aging spot on the below near 6 hour marker.
The Seiko LM 5606-7150 is a perfect everyday vintage watch and is worth collecting for its influence in Seiko watch history.
