Seiko Bell-Matic was first introduced in Japan in 1966. It was the world’s first mechanical alarm watch to feature an automatic winding rotor.

The movement used is the 4006 caliber with a day/date display and options of 17/21/27 Jewels. It used a small hammer that struck a curved metal sounding spring, powered by a spring itself. The Seiko Bell-Matic was discontinued in 1978, representing a beautiful example of watchmaking from the 1960s to the 1970s.

This Bell-Matic, circa 1967, is the 17 Jewels version. The watch was recently serviced with the movement is running with normal accuracy and PR, and the alarm is working well and quite loudly.

This particular Bell-Matic features an attractive look, with the original white dial aging into a burnt salmon color with a sunburst effect. The hidden lug case size, at 37.5 x 43mm, perfect for any wrist size, is in great condition maintaining its edgy shape with a front brushed pattern and a combination of polished and brushed patterns on the case's sides.

Coming with the original bracelet that fits wrist sizes up to +/- 18mm, this Seiko Bell-Matic, with its attractive aging salmon dial, is a great find for vintage Seiko watch enthusiasts, as there are not many available with such good working condition on the market.
