Seiko 56KS King Seiko 5625-7000 Hi Beat White Sunburst Dial

The King Seiko line was originally created by Seiko’s Daini Seikosha division as a luxury hand-wound series designed to compete directly with Suwa Seikosha’s Grand Seiko. Interestingly, the first automatic King Seiko models were later developed by Suwa Seikosha, featuring the high-beat 56 series calibers. These movements went on to become some of Seiko’s most successful and widely used automatics, powering numerous King and Grand Seiko models throughout the late 1960s and 1970s.

This 1969 King Seiko 5625-7000 embodies that legacy with a clean, minimalist design. It features a bold and wide case paired with a beautiful white sunburst dial that displays a subtle bluish hue under the light. The dial maintains a clean layout with a date-only window, applied baton indices, and elegant two-tone dauphine hands, offering a timeless and understated aesthetic.

The watch is in good overall condition. The movement has been recently serviced, with the quickset date function working properly. The polished mirror-finished case retains its shine and sharp lines, and the KS gold medallion on the case back remains intact and well-preserved. The dial and crystal are clean, with only light signs of wear visible near the 12 o’clock marker.

A fine example of late 1960s Seiko craftsmanship, the 5625-7000 offers a refined design backed by one of Seiko’s most respected automatic movements, making it a great addition to any vintage Seiko collection.
