Seiko 5328-5000 Square Sub-second White Dial
Seiko 5328-5000 Square Sub-second White Dial
The Seiko 5328-5000 is a rare and unique vintage timepiece, notable because it’s one of the very few Seiko models to feature a Swiss movement, setting it apart from Seiko’s long-standing tradition of using in-house movements. The 5328 movement inside is based on the Swiss calibre 138.001 by Fabrique d'Horlogerie de Fontainemelon (FHF), a manual-winding movement with 17 jewels, running at 21,600 A/h with an impressive 47-hour power reserve. FHF was among the founding companies of Ébauches SA in 1926 and later merged into ETA in 1985.
This model produced in 1985, was one of the models of Seiko Mech collection that was introduced in Seiko's 1987 JDM catalogs but only the 5328-5000 and 5328-5010 were offered in a single size. It features a square gold metal case with white dial, numeric indices, sub-second ring, and the unique shape hands.
This specific piece is in excellent condition, with a serviced movement, a clean dial and crystal, and no visible signs of aging, only light hairline scratches on the case.
With a case size of 28mm across (including the crown) and 33mm lug-to-lug, the watch comes complete with its original case and tag. Its limited production and the unique use of a Swiss movement make the Seiko 5328-5000 a prized collectible for Seiko enthusiasts.
