Seiko 5 Actus with its Seiko’s favorite automatic movement, the 6106C was introduced in 1969-1977 as revised from the 1967 6106A movement.
6106 movement comes with 25 Jewels but the 6106C has the Diafix installations and the 6106C variant introduced a quickset mechanism to allow the day and date to be changed by pushing in the crown. And is the only caliber to support a bilingual day wheel.
An “SS” logo found in some 5 Actus models means the short form of Second Setting, a movement feature that allows the second hand to stop ticking once the crown is pulled out.
This Actus SS 6106-8680 from 1974 features a captivating dark blue sunburst dial that never fails to captivate the eye when worn. The watch is in good condition, showing no noticeable signs of wear on both the dial and case. It operates with normal accuracy and PR, and comes with the original bracelet, suitable for wrist sizes up to +/- 18.5cm.
