Seiko 5 Actus SS 6106-7470 JDM Dark Blue Dial

The Seiko 5 Actus, equipped with the beloved Seiko 6106C automatic movement, was initially introduced in 1969 and remained in production until 1977. It was an evolution from the earlier 1967 6106A movement.

The 6106C variant distinguishes itself with Diafix installations. Notably, the 6106C introduced a quickset mechanism that allows for easy adjustment of both the day and date by simply pushing in the crown. Additionally, it's the only caliber to support a bilingual day wheel.

In certain Seiko 5 Actus models, you may come across the "SS" logo, which stands for Second Setting. This feature enables the second hand to stop ticking when the crown is pulled out, allowing for a precise time setting.

The Seiko 5 Actus reference 6106-7470 boasts a beautifully polished stainless steel case with a round shape. Its dark blue sunburst dial is particularly striking, offering a unique characteristic. Unlike other shiny dark blue dials, this one can appear almost black in certain lighting conditions. Paired with simple indices and dauphine-style hands, it represents a solidly constructed timepiece of higher standards, primarily available in the Japan Domestic Market.
