Seiko Sportmatic 5 6619-9070 JDM Silver Sunburst Crosshair Dial
Seiko Sportmatic 5 6619-9070 JDM Silver Sunburst Crosshair Dial
The Seiko Sportmatic 5, introduced in 1964, holds a significant place in Seiko's history as one of the earliest models to feature an automatic movement with a quickset date function, which could be adjusted by pushing the crown. Powered by the 6619 automatic movement, this 21-jewel mechanism is known for its reliability and simplicity, allowing these watches to run for decades with minimal maintenance.
The Seiko Sportmatic 6619-9010 from 1966 presented here showcases an all-silver aesthetic with a classic silver sunburst crosshair dial, complemented by baton indices, hands, and a stainless steel case. Measuring 37.5mm across and 43mm lug-to-lug, the watch wears larger on the wrist and with its hidden crown positioned at the 4 o'clock mark, giving it a sleek and balanced design.
Recently serviced, the watch has its original head condition in great working condition with good accuracy and a power reserve of up to 24 hours when fully wound. The dolphin engraving on the back case adds to its charm and collectibility, making this vintage Seiko a timeless piece for any collection.
