Seiko Seikomatic 6206-8120 JDM Kanji Date White Dial
Seiko Seikomatic 6206-8120 JDM Kanji Date White Dial
The Seiko 6206 caliber marked a change from the earlier Seikomatic caliber 400 movement in the early 1960s, starting in 1965. The 6206 movement was specialized for use in the Seikomatic range with a split day-date dial.
The Seiko 6206-8120, produced in 1966, boasts a unique case shape reminiscent of the famous Panerai Radiomir design. It features a polished stainless steel case with a glossy white dial adorned with five horizontal stripes and a central vertical stripe. On the dial, you'll find the Seiko logo plated on the left and "Seikomatic Diashock 26J" printed on the right. The split day-date display is positioned horizontally, and as a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) production, the day language is presented in Kanji only.
With a lug width measuring 20mm, this watch easily pairs with both vintage and modern-style straps.
Adding to its distinctive appearance are square baton hour indices and dauphine hands. Despite showing minimal signs of wear on the lower side of the dial, the watch maintains good accuracy and power reserve, retaining its allure even after more than 50 years. This Seiko 6206-8120 is highly coveted among vintage Seiko collectors for its unique and appealing design.
