Seiko Quartz 8229-700A Silverwave Silver Tile Textured Dial

The Seiko Silverwave Quartz is one of the early models in Seiko’s water-resistant line, featuring the distinctive tsunami wave logo on the case back. It includes a screw-down crown at the 3 o’clock position with a crown guard, along with a screw-in case back for added durability.

This 8229-700A model, produced in 1981, showcases a silver dial with a tile texture, enhancing its visual appeal. The case measures 38mm (including the crown) by 41mm lug-to-lug and the original bracelet comfortably fits wrist sizes of approximately 19cm.

In good working condition, this watch has a clean case and crystal, with only a light patina on the dial that’s only visible at certain angles. The indices, logo, and text are crisp and clear. It’s a sporty yet classic vintage piece, perfect for adding a timeless appeal to a daily-wear collection.
