Seiko Quartz 7546-8340 Silverwave White Textured Dial

The Silverwave Quartz is one of Seiko’s early explorations into water-resistant quartz watches, known for its screw-in case back featuring the iconic tsunami wave logo. Staying true to its tool watch roots, it also comes with a screw-down crown typically at the 3 or 4 o’clock position paired with crown guards and solid overall construction.

This example, the 7546-8340 from 1979, features a well proportioned and solid build stainless steel case measuring 35mm across and 40mm lug-to-lug. The case retains its sharp edged lug design and wears comfortably with great wrist presence.

The watch presents a striking silver hobnail textured dial with stick baton indices, matching hands, and a distinctive syringe style seconds hand. It also includes a quickset day date function, the signature wave logo case back, and the original Seiko stainless steel signed bracelet, fitting wrists up to approximately 17.5cm.

Condition wise, the watch remains in good vintage form with light hairline scratches on the case and bracelet, a clean dial with only a small short light scratch near the 8 o’clock marker, and a clear crystal.

A solid example of late 1970s Seiko design, this Silverwave Quartz offers a sporty yet refined look perfect for everyday wear or as a standout addition to any vintage Seiko collection.
