Seiko Lord Marvel 5740-8000 36000 SGP White Sunburst Dial

Seiko caliber 5740C is the first 36,000 A/h hi beat movement in Japan, and second in the world. It was introduced in 1967 after Girard Perregaux first developed and introduced it in 1966.

But instead of putting it in their Grand or King Seiko line, Seiko put its new hi-beat caliber inside Lord Marvel 5740-8000, the third generation of the Lord Marvel lineup (LM5740).

Lord Marvel here was made in 1970, a gold-plated case with few signs of wear near the lug tips, clean white sunburst dial with stick baton indices and matching gold black stripe hands. The original domed acrylic crystal is in good condition. Not just the timeless simple design with no day date window, the 5740 movement is working with good accuracy and power reserve, it does ticks loud and smooth seamless sweep of the second hand.

The Seiko Lord Marvel 5740 movement paved the way for the hi-beat Grand Seiko movement, proved Seiko’s innovative spirit, and is one of the world’s high-precision watchmakers. The Seiko Lord Marvel 36000 is a piece of horological history, one of the must-haves for vintage watch collectors.
