The Seiko Lord Matic carries a rich legacy as the successor to the Seikomatic line, continuing the heritage of the first high-beat 36,000 bph Lord Marvel.

The 5606 movement, initially introduced around 1968, served as the foundation for the early 1970s King Seiko and Grand Seiko models. This movement, an automatic + manual winding mechanism, beats at 21,600 bph and features a day-date quickset function. It's a JDM watch with the day displayed in both kanji and English.

The Seiko Lord Matic offers a wide variety of designs, ranging from simple monochrome to vibrant, colorful dials. Take, for instance, the 1973 Seiko 5606-7290 from the Suwa division, boasting a stunning blue vertical gradient dial with a linen texture. It showcases baton indices that double at the six, nine, and twelve o'clock positions, complemented by unique gold hands and a gold-framed day-date window.
