The 5606 movement, first produced around 1968, became the foundation for early 1970s King Seiko and Grand Seiko models. It features automatic and manual winding, a beat rate of 21,600 bph, and a day-date quickset function. As a JDM model, it includes a bilingual day display in Kanji and English.

The Lord Matic 5606-7000 showcases Seiko’s "Grammar of Design" through its distinctive gem-style case, reminiscent of today’s Grand Seiko SBGX253.
