Seiko Dolce 9530-5030 Tank Tungsten Carbide Gold Sand Textured Dial

Before ceramic and sapphire are used as scratch resistance material in watches, Seiko experimented with tungsten carbide in the 1980s in their high-end Dolce range and a limited Grand Seiko SBGT009 in 1988.

The tungsten carbide has a hardness of 2600Hv which is harder than sapphire and only second to diamond.
Here we have the Seiko Dolce 9530-5030, featuring a tank-shaped case made of tungsten carbide with sharp edges. The classic design is accentuated by a gold sand-textured dial, adorned with slim gold indices, a dot gold minutes track, and gold hands.

Having been in existence for over 30 years since manufactured in 1976, this watch has stood the test of time and remains in excellent condition. The use of tungsten carbide for the case ensures cleanliness and durability, complementing the pristine sapphire crystal and an attractive dial.

Powering the Seiko Dolce is the reliable 9530 movement, demonstrating good accuracy with a deviation of only +/- 20 seconds per year.
