Seiko Dolce 8N41-5130 Tank Tungsten Carbide Gold Flake Dial

Seiko Dolce made its debut on the second page of Seiko’s 1982 catalog right after the superiors, and took the first page in 1983, marking its place as the high-end main line for the Seiko Quartz lineup.

As shown in this Seiko Dolce 8N41-5130 with a gorgeous gold Flake dial, it uses the 8N41 movement with a hacking system that gains +/- 20 secs a year. It is an accurate quartz movement of the time and still is.

Aside from the accurate movement, the case is also constructed from tungsten carbide material, which has a hardness of 2600Hv, harder than sapphire, and second only to diamond.

The difficulties of engineering and machining requirements are why no tungsten carbide watch is produced today, making the Seiko Dolce tungsten carbide series a rare watch and worth collecting.

This watch, circa 1992, runs the accurate 8N41 quartz movement, with a multifaceted tungsten carbide case gold mirror finishing, a beautiful gold flake dial, gold hands, and clean sapphire crystal. The overall condition shows no sign of aging.
