Seiko Champion 860 Calendar J15017 SGP White Sunburst Dial

The Seiko 7622 belongs to the Seiko Champion range, first introduced in the early 1960s, and represents one of the later movement models in the series, following the earlier Cal. 860. Notably, this model exclusively features a calendar function.

Produced between 1964 and 1966, the Seiko Champion Cal. 7622 is the latest updated movement in the Champion range. It is powered by a 17-jewel Diashock manual winding movement, operating at 18,000 bph. the quick date change, by moving the hands back and forth between the 21:00 and 24:00 positions.

The Champion 860 Calendar presented here is a classic entry-level dress watch from the 1960s, characterized by its elegant design. It features a slim bezel gold-plated case, a silver sunburst dial with "Seiko Champion Calendar 860" printed on it, classic stick indices with sharp pointed edges, dauphine hands, and a framed date window.

This watch is in good, all-original condition, complete with the "S" signed crown. It has been recently serviced, offering a power reserve of up to 24 hours when fully wound. Considering its age of over 60 years, the gold-plated case remains in good condition with only a few signs of wear. The case back is highly polished, with the original engraving no longer visible. The dial's printed text is still clear, with only a very light stain around the 5 and 6 o'clock markers, visible only under certain angles and lighting conditions. 

Overall, the Seiko Champion 860 Calendar is a fine example of a vintage dress watch, combining Seiko's classic design with enduring functionality.
