Seiko 56KS King Seiko 5626-7000 Hi-Beat White Sunburst Dial

The King Seiko line was introduced by Seiko’s Daini Seikosha division as a luxury hand-wound series meant to compete directly with Suwa Seikosha’s Grand Seiko. Later, Suwa would take the lead in developing the first automatic King Seiko models, powered by the high-beat 56 series calibers—movements that went on to become some of Seiko’s most successful automatics, used across both King and Grand Seiko models throughout the late 1960s and 1970s.

This example, the 1969 King Seiko 5626-7000, reflects that legacy with a clean yet distinctive design. The watch features a wider side case framing a white sunburst dial, set apart by its bold U-shaped baton indices—a departure from the more commonly seen slender markers of the series. These are paired with matching baton hands, emphasizing its minimalist yet robust character.

The dial is clean, the original crystal remains clear, and the unpolished case shows only light hairline scratches while preserving its sharp edges. The gold KS medallion on the caseback is intact and well-preserved, with only subtle aging visible on the date wheel.
