The Seiko Grand Seiko Historical Collection SBGV009 from 2014 is a limited-edition quartz timepiece, created as a tribute to the vintage Grand Seiko "Self-Dater" model. Limited to only 1,200 pieces worldwide, this 37.2mm watch captures the timeless elegance of its predecessor, the 1964 Self-Dater—the first Grand Seiko with a date—while incorporating modern craftsmanship.

The SBGV009’s silver sunburst dial honors the 1964 Self-Dater, the first Seiko to feature this famed dial style. The stunning sunburst effect is visible from any angle. It has fully polished hands that retain the iconic style seen in Grand Seiko models for over 50 years. It also features a vintage-style thick crystal, upgraded with modern scratch-resistant sapphire and internal anti-reflective coating. The crown bears the 1964 crown symbol as a tribute, deviating from the typical GS crown. The case back features the iconic lion emblem and individual limited-edition numbering.

This watch is in excellent condition, with no obvious signs of wear. It includes a full-link bracelet, along with its complete set of original outer and inner boxes and paper.

Powered by the Caliber 9F82 quartz movement, the SBGV009 provides outstanding precision of ±10 seconds per year, achieved through thermocompensation and a date display feature. With a stainless steel case and 10 ATM water resistance, it’s durable enough for daily wear, while the classic silver dial preserves a sophisticated look.
