Grand Seiko 61GS 6146-8000 Cap Gold White Dial

The Grand Seiko 61GS, the flagship model, made its debut in 1968 and continued until 1975. Produced at Grand Seiko's Suwa facility, the 61GS replaced the 62GS and featured the self-winding, high-beat Grand Seiko 6100 series movement.

The Grand Seiko 6146-8000 is a fine example of a Grand Seiko watch that embodies Taro Tanaka's Grammar of Design principles, which are still applied by Grand Seiko today, over 50 years later.

The 6146 movement runs at a high-beat 36,000 beats per hour, 10 beats per second, or 5 Hz. It is self-winding with the ability to be hand-wound and includes a quickset date feature.
