This 1974 Seiko 2418-301A is one of the rare variants of Seiko Chariot models. Like the other Chariots that use the Hi-beat 28,800 bph, but this particular 2418 also has the automatic movement, unlike the regular manual winding movement of the Chariot lineup.

The watch also features an attractive blue sand-textured dial. With the tinted crystal, the blue color changes to a purple hue when viewed from different angles. The dial is paired with the unusually placed date window between the 4 and 5 o'clock markers, stick indices, and the lack of a seconds hand, giving the watch a minimalist aesthetic.

Housing the beautiful dial is the tank shape with curvy sides, all brush-textured, which is in good condition with no signs of aging. The crystal, hands, and clean dial are in good condition, with only a light blemish on the side between the 11 and 12-hour markers that is hardly noticeable except under certain angles and lighting conditions.

The 2418 movement is keeping good time and is one of the favorite vintage watches that present both an attractive dial and a vintage look, which is often sought after by vintage watch collectors.
